Abstract
The study aims to assess the level of multidimensional poverty based on the new standards in Thai Nguyen province in the period of 2021-2023. Based on the author’s calculations on data collected from the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Thai Nguyen province, the study has shown that although the poverty rate in Thai Nguyen province is still high compared to the national average, it has decreased sharply in the past 3 years. In addition, the highest level of shortage of basic social services is identified as income, health insurance, hygienic toilets, use of telecommunications services and employment. From the collected causes of poverty, the study proposes a number of solutions to sustainably reduce poverty in Thai Nguyen province in the coming time.
