Abstract
The study was conducted to analyze the economic efficiency changes from Dien pomelo plantation model in Tan Quang commune – Song Cong city – Thai Nguyen province in 2016 and 2018. The research results show that, Dien pomelo is grown in Tan Quang commune with quite large scale and of high economic efficiency. In 2016, 1 VND of investment returned 7.67 VND of gross output, or 6.67 VND of added value; in 2018, 1 VND of investment returned 8.5 VND of gross output , or 7.5 VND of added value. Over the two periods, the overall economic efficiency has increased. in 2016, Dien pomelo cultivation model had many advantages in natural conditions and land, but the cultivation method was simple with little initial capital. In 2018, the land for growing Dien pomelo was narrowed significantly, because of the construction project of Song Cong II industrial zone with an area of 250ha in Tan Quang commune, however the model still encounters some difficulties that are unstable output, new brand in the market, outdated science and technology. This study provides basic information as a basis for planning the orientation and development of key fruit trees in Song Cong City – Thai Nguyen province in the future.
