Abstracts
The main objective of this paper is to explore and analyze two important behaviors that lead to the decision of selecting the investment areas of enterprises, including the way of searching for information and the reasons for selecting the investment areas. The paper employed both primary and secondary data to examine the impact of investment attraction on the improvement of the PCI provincial competitiveness index by applying descriptive statistics and correlation analysis. Results have shown that despite advantages of natural, economic and social conditions, investors might not be attracted if there remains low improvement of the investment environment, the capacity of the government and the transparent provision of information. In addition, the paper reveals the investors’ behaviors in selecting the investment areas, which provides Lao Cai province with valuable insights into investors’ behaviors. The results of the papers not only assist the local policy makers in promoting existing effective policies but also provide some critical recommendations to attract investments in Lao Cai province.
