Abstract
This study aims to analyze the economic efficiency of rice farming households participating in the One Million Hectares of Low-Emission Rice Program in Tra Vinh Province, Vietnam, thereby proposing solutions to enhance economic efficiency and promote sustainable development. Primary data were collected from 80 rice-farming households participating in the Program and 50 non-participating households. The survey results were compiled and processed using Excel and SPSS 27 software. The results indicate that rice production under the Low-Emission Rice Program in Tra Vinh Province achieves relatively high economic efficiency, with an average profit of 2.217.997 VND per 1.000 m² per crop and an average income of 2.457.557 VND per 1.000 m² per crop. Additionally, the profit-to-cost and income-to-cost ratios are higher than those of non-participating households. Based on these findings, the study proposes several solutions related to farming techniques, production organization, farmer capacity building, and policy support to improve farmers’ incomes and contribute to the promotion of sustainable agriculture in Vietnam.
