Abstract
This study aims to identify the factors influencing sustainable ecotourism development in Sa Pa, thereby providing a scientific basis for policy formulation in the context of Vietnam’s transition toward a green growth model. Based on comprehensive literature reviews, the research proposed analytical framework consisting of five factors: (1) natural resources, (2) tourism infrastructure, (3) socio-cultural aspects, (4) management policies, and (5) regional linkage. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, in which qualitative research was conducted to refine the measurement scales, followed by quantitative research based on the survey results of 173 tourists in Sa Pa. The results of analysis reveal that natural resources, tourism infrastructure, socio-cultural factors, and management policies have a positive impact on sustainable ecotourism development, with infrastructure being the most influential factor. Conversely, regional linkage shows no significant impact, indicating limitations in inter-locality cooperation. Accordingly, the study proposes several policy implications to promote sustainable ecotourism development in alignment with cultural preservation and environmental protection.
