Abstract
The aim of this study is to compare the strength of the psychological capital’s scale when considering psychological capital as a unidimensional scale (its individual components) or a multidimensional one (the overall level of psychological capital). The model of the relationship between psychological capital and turnover intention is built in the context of education. The research method chosen is a mixed one, in which the qualitative (focus group) is used to refine the scale to suit the research context, while the quantitative one is used to test the model hypotheses. The survey sample is a convenience of 350 elements, collected from lecturers of 3 universities. The test results show that when considering psychological capital as the overall level, its impact is stronger than any of its individual components on the dependent variable. Finally, some managerial implications are given based on the research results to increase performance and maintain organizational commitment.
