Abstract
In recent times, Thai Nguyen has always achieved an impressive GRDP growth rate which is always higher than the average GDP growth rate of the whole country. The above results clearly demonstrate the role of economic management and administration of the leaders of Thai Nguyen province, the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) of Thai Nguyen has positive changes. However, in the context of climate change affecting many localities, the application of the Provincial Green Index (PGI) to the PCI assessment criteria plays an important role in the development of enterprises and the economy. PGI is a new index that has been included in the assessment. For Thai Nguyen province, the results have not shown a clear trend. In 2022, this index ranked 11th, but in the second year of assessment, Thai Nguyen dropped 30 places. Therefore, local authorities need to increase incentives for businesses to switch to greener business methods, promote the practice and application of green and environmentally friendly technologies; thereby, creating motivation to create high added value, environmentally friendly towards sustainable development in Thai Nguyen.
