Abstract
Foreign direct investment (FDI) plays an important role in contributing to the economic development of Thai Nguyen province. In the period 2020-2022, despite being affected by the world economic recession and the Covid-19 pandemic, the scale of FDI invested in the province still increased significantly. Using a number of methods such as descriptive statistics, graphs and comparisons, the article shows that the current FDI structure of Thai Nguyen province is unbalanced between economic sectors as well as investment partners. On that basis, the article has proposed 4 main solutions in attracting and using FDI, including well organizing and implementing policies on attracting foreign investment from the Central government to the province, building a list of projects requiring foreign investment, increasing advertising and promoting investment promotion activities, and improving project management after granting investment licenses to create a more reasonable structure of this capital source in the province in the coming period.
