Abstract
This study analyzes the current situation and proposes solutions for developing health insurance in Thanh Son district, Phu Tho province. Research results show that Thanh Son district has implemented many solutions to develop health insurance;however, the number of people participating in health insurance has decreased. The coverage rate in 2022 was 99.28% but decreased to 90.0% in 2022. The development of health insurance in the district still has some limitations as follows: the development of beneficiaries of household health insurance is not sustainable; some businesses do not pay enough health insurance for employees; a number of health insurance collection agents operate inefficiently and have not propagated people to participate in health insurance; medical examination facilities lack physical facilities, medical staff is still limited in professional qualifications. Based on the research results, the authors have proposed a number of solutions to develop health insurance in Thanh Son district.
