Abstract
Given the rapid population growth, it is important to develop a mathematical model to describe population development in order to study, forecast and control population growth. This study employed differential equations to construct mathematical models applied to population growth estimation and control. In practice, the continuum model is not used conveniently because population statistics are discrete (death rate, age, birth rate, etc.). In addition, the data that statists need also have discrete values. Therefore, in this paper, a discrete model was applied to the estimation and control of the population growth.
