Plums are one of the main crops in the production of fruit trees in the Yen Chau district, Son La province. By the end of 2020, there was an area of 2.844 ha of plums in the district, accounting for over 28% of the district’s fruit tree area. To identify determinants of the economic efficiency of plums at the household level, this study applied face-to-face interviews to collect data from 90 households in the communes of Long Phieng, Phieng Khoai, and Yen Son of Yen Chau district, Son La province. The results of multivariable regression model analysis showed four factors that significantly influenced the economic efficiency of plum production, including: (1) Acreage of plums per household; (2) Selling price; (3) Production cost per ha; (4) Economic status of the household. Based on the results, this study recommends several solutions to improve the economic efficiency of plum production at the household level in Yen Chau district, Son La province
