Abstract
Tuyen Quang, a mountainous province, stays in the group of the poorest provinces in the country. In recent years, the province has carried out industrialization and modernization, and has achieved important results of shifting the economy from mainly basing on agriculture to mainly basing on industries and services. However, due to a low economic starting point and in the initial stage of industrialization and modernization, Tuyen Quang’s economic structure still has many limitations: the share of agriculture is still high, the proportion of industry is small, the agricultural and industrial sectors are far from large-scale and deep specialization, services are still underdeveloped. Therefore, in order to carry out economic restructuring of Tuyen Quang province, this article analyzed the secondary data to assess the current status of the economic restructuring process, draw out success, shortcomings and causes leading to limitations, then proposed some basic solutions to accomplish goals of economic restructuring in Tuyen Quang province towards industrialization and modernization.
