Abstract
International economic integration brings a lot of economic development opportunities for each country, especially developing countries like Vietnam. One of the great opportunities is to attract foreign direct investment (FDI). FDI is one of the important capital sources for the country’s economic development. However, besides the values that FDI has brought, many existing problems need to be solved. Based on the statistics of Vietnam’s FDI inflows in recent years, the paper focuses on analyzing the situation and the role of FDI for Vietnam’s economy; hence, points out the shortcomings in attracting FDI and proposes solutions to attract FDI effectively in the future.
