AN ANALYTICAL FRAMEWORK FOR THE RELATIONSHIP OF EMPOWERING LEADERSHIP, INTERNAL MOTIVATION AND EMPLOYEE CREATIVITY

Abstract
Employee creativity contributes significantly to the organization’s innovation, performance and survival. Scholars on creativity agree that creative process often occurs when individual factors are placed in different situations or contexts. Among the contextual factors affecting creativity, leadership is affirmed as one of the leading factors. The main objective of this paper is to develop an analytical framework for the relationship of empowering leadership, internal motivation and employee creativity, with the following hypotheses: (1) The challenge and enjoyment aspect of the internal motivation positively impacts creativity, (2) Empowering leadership regulates the relationship between the challenge and enjoyment aspect of the internal motivation and employee creativity. This link is stronger when empowerment is enhanced. The results of this theoretical research will be the basis for practical research at many organizations in Vietnam in the near future.
