QUALITY OF HOMESTAY’ S SERVICE AT BA BE TOURISM AREA BAC KAN PROVINCE

Abstract
Homestay is a type of service that has developed quite a lot in recent years. This type of accommodation has contributed significantly to improve and raise the level of life standard among the local people including Ba Be Lake tourism area. However, for further development, homestay service needs to improve and increase it’s quality in order to compete with other accommodation services, such as: hotels, motels, etc. This study focuses on assessing the quality of homestay services through 5 criterias of SERVQUAL in the model of Parasuraman’s service quality: Reliability, empathy, response to customer’s demand, assurance and tangible facilities. Based on the survey of 400 tourists, who already visitted and stayed at Ba Be tourism resort, about the quality of homestay services, the study evaluated the real situation of homestay service quality in this area, and showed the limitations and the reasons for them. Based on that, the article proposed some solutions to improve the quality of homestay services in the future.
