Abstract
The study was conducted to assess the status of the Tay women ‘s roles in Na Ri District, Bac Kan Province in households’ decisions, in family activities, in social work as well as contributions to households’ income. Primary data were conducted from the sample of 375 observations at 5 communes in Na Ri District. Research findings shows that women play an important role in households’ decisions. there is a high consensus between a husband and a wife on the production methods, the use of income, education and careers for children. Women play a role as important as the husband in the Family; they equally involve in household’s decisions. For assigning the family activities, women take on most of the family’s activities such as housework, family health care, children teaching and firewood collection. Regarding income contribution, Tay women are the main contributors of the household income. From the results of this study, some recommendations to promote the role of women in the decisions of households have been proposed.
