Abstract
In recent years, the term “Digital Transformation” has been mentioned in various forums, articles and documents. The government has identified digital transformation as a breakthrough tool for economic development. In the context of the Covid-19 pandemic which have negatively affected all aspects of life, digital transformation is regarded as a great solution to stabilize social activities. Digital transformation in education has appeared to be very beneficial in training and management, especially during the period of the Covid-19 pandemic. Libraries in general and university libraries in particular have been greatly influenced by the 4th Industrial Revolution. Changes in reading culture and the readers’ needs have forced libraries to change their service methods to meet the readers’ needs. Digital transformation can be regarded as a useful solution to help university libraries affirm their position as “the heart of the university”. In this study, the authors collected and analyzed the secondary data from materials and documents on the implementation of digital transformation of ministries, branches, localities and universities. At the same time, the primary data was gathered through surveys of universities in Vietnam. The research results indicated factors affecting the readiness of university libraries for digital transformation
