Abstract
This study aims to identify and examine the factors influencing the innovation capacity of university students in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Research data were collected through an online questionnaire survey of students enrolled in universities across Ho Chi Minh City, using a five-point Likert scale and convenience (non-probability) sampling; the final sample comprises 281 valid responses. The data were analyzed in SPSS 26 using descriptive statistics, Cronbach’s Alpha reliability analysis, Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), and multiple linear regression. The findings reveal that all four factors, namely lecturer support (β = 0.561), learning motivation (β = 0.342), problem-solving skills (β = 0.273), and learning conditions and resources (β = 0.255), have positive and statistically significant effects on students’ innovation capacity (p < 0.001); the model explains 56.4% of the variance in the dependent variable (adjusted R² = 0.564). Based on these findings, the study proposes several managerial implications aimed at enhancing students’ innovation capacity, thereby improving educational quality and supporting human resource development in the contemporary context.
