SUSTAINABLE URBAN TOURISM: AN INTEGRATED MODEL APPROACH TO EXAMINING THE TOURISTS’ PRO-ENVIRONMENTAL BINNING BEHAVIOUR

Tác giả: Hoàng Văn Hảo; Số trang: 125

Abstract
This study examines tourists’ pro-environmental binning behavior in the context of sustainable urban tourism. The proposed research model integrates the Value–Identity–Personal Norm (VIP) framework and the Norm Activation Model (NAM). Primary data were collected from 259 tourists in Hanoi, Vietnam. The findings indicate that biospheric values, environmental identity, ascription of responsibility, and personal norms all have direct effects on tourists’ pro-environmental binning behavior. Moreover, environmental identity and ascription of responsibility mediate the relationship between biospheric values and pro-environmental binning behavior. By elucidating the mechanisms underlying tourists’ pro-environmental binning behavior, this study contributes to a better understanding of environmentally responsible behavior in the context of urban tourism. From a practical perspective, the findings provide practical implications for encouraging pro-environmental binning behavior and promoting sustainable tourism behavior among tourists.
